Loco coco shave ice in Kauai

Compared to Jojo’s Shave Ice, this one is 100% better and comparable price. Get the ice cream scoop at the bottom! Almond joy was phenomenal!! Also makes a perfect pit stop with the other pizza food truck nearby :)

I was told by a zipline tour guide that Waikomo was their favorite shaved ice around by far. We then asked if it was better than JoJo’s. He responded in the affirmative, however when we got there it was a huge disappointment. The saved ice was OK but no where close to JoJo’s Shave Ice. I would not recommend going here if you have had JoJo’s or any other quality shaved ice before.

Oh my goodness! This place has amazing shaved ice, and for $12 you can get an amazing and delicious treat served up in an equally awesome coconut bowl with a bamboo straw and wooden spoon as a souvenir. The bowl is totally worth it but the shaved ice might just change your life.

If you are I search for authentic shave ice, you MUST come here. They top their shave iced with local produce, coconut creme and use all natural (sweetened with local honey) fruit syrups made from fruit puree.

Spent two weeks in Kauai and have not got a chance to taste the famous dessert, so on the way to the airport we stoped by this shave ice stand. The best shave ice probably in the whole Kauai! Fresh fruit pieces, fruit pure, syrups are all natural, no artificial colors and additives. All made in front of you so you get to see what goes in your shave ice. Great selection of flavors, and do not forget to add an extra scoop of that vanilla ice cream. Love from the first bite! Do not overlook this place, it might be small, but the taste is big! The stand also carries handmade honey lip balm!

Didn’t quite live up to the hype. But it was definitely top 3 in Kauai in my book. Loved the real fruit juice!

Absolutely delicious. This was our favorite shaved ice on the island. The honey, coconut, and fruit on top was perfect. We got Raspberry with Vanilla ice cream. I definitely recommend this place for shaved ice! Also...Edit: Had to update my review further after we went to other places for shaved ice on other parts of the island. None of them compared and were very subpar compared to Waikomo! The reason why is because Waikomo does NOT use artificial flavors, rather natural fruit syrups, which makes a HUGE difference. Go here!!

Delicious, fresh, refreshing shave ice! A must stop when in the area to get some amazing shave ice with natural flavors. It's really true that you didn't think shave ice could be this good.

THE BEST SHAVE ICE. Made the mistake of coming here for my first shave ice ever because then I was disappointed everywhere else I went (when we were far away from here). The natural syrups, toppings, and everything else just make this out of this world delicious.

Great all natural shave ice located on south shore. We had the coco-pine special and it was delicious. Best place to get shave ice if you’re down in this area. We’ve tried most of the shave ice on Kaua’i and Waikomo rates up in the top. Uncles Shave ice is located near by we both think Waikomo better. They’re located in Kukui’ula Market (near Kukui’ula village shopping center). Parking is tight but worth trying to find a spot. Will def be back to try more here!

Delicious. No fake syrup, with coconut milk and fruit on too. It's a small outdoor stand type of place with a very small seating area. The added mac nut ice cream was melted by the time we got to it though, so eat fast.

Dozens of shave ice stands and shops will tell you they are the first or the original, but this place really is the best. I've had good shave ice at well-known stands on each of the islands, and this is the only place I've found that uses fresh fruit purees and juices, fresh fruit, coconut cream, and local honey to make the most flavorful and refreshing shave ice. Loco Coco is a small stand in a small parking lot of a small local shopping plaza; it's easy to drive by and overlook, but it's worth finding. This will redefine shave ice for you.

It was so good. We tried several shave ice spots on the island and this was for sure my favorite! I had half strawberry and half raspberry over vanilla ice cream! The topping is the best too! Next time I'm trying the Coco- Pine!

I think this is probably the best frozen dessert I've ever put into my mouth. Unbelievably refreshing and made with fresh fruit, organic sugar, coconut cream, homemade honey and lots of love from this tiny food truck. Was recommended by BJ from Kauai Backcountry Adventures, who is obviously a shaved ice connoisseur, since he was absolutely spot-on. Two enthusiastic thumbs up!!!

You've been torn. You love shave ice. But all that too sweet and are those earthly colors artificial syrups. Now you can have your ice and eat it too. If you blink, you'll miss the tiny truck tucked into the corner of the parking lot. Find it and you'll be rewarded with airy fluffy shave ice with natural juice and fruit goodness. This homemade coconut cream and chai seeds though...

WOW. Typical shaved ice is super syrupy and sweet, but this place uses legit organic fruit. You can definitely taste the difference - this is the best shaved ice place that I've tried in kauai so far. It's owned by the same family that owns makai sushi right next door (which is also a must try). Stop by if you can!

We just to happened upon this little spot right off the main road. The offerings are not your typical flavorings. They are all natural for starters. They also have this little Filipino citrus called Kalamansi that's absolutely ridiculous when combined with Guava.

I had the mango and lychee mix. It was great, very smooth and refreshing.

Um...YUM. So so very good. No nasty artificial syrups here. Fluffy shaved ice. Delicious flavors. If I could afford it, I’d eat it every day. Perfect cap to long days in the water.

Only Fresh fruit puree used for their shaved ice syrups. Amazing fresh taste. The honey and coconut cream topper is a nice touch, it is not too sweet to over power the fruit shaved ice taste. Organic fresh fruit for the purest shaved ice, what else could you want.

We had a couple of shaved ices on our trip (Jojo’s and The Fresh Shave) and we agreed that Waikomo was our favorite. Definitely a pricier option (I think it was around $8 after tax) but man is the texture and flavor 👌👌👌. Get the Mac nut ice cream, well worth the 1.5 dollars. It was the nuttiest ice cream we had during the trip and actually had chunks of macadamia in it. I would get a sour flavor + sweet flavor for the ultimate dessert.

This is one of my top 5 shave ice places in the USA. Great natural flavors and fine powdery ice shaving. None of that lame corn syrup or snow cone wanna be.

This was a delicious all natural Shave Ice mobile stand. I would recommend a natural Shave Ice. You can get just a regular for a special souvenir coconut cup Bowl. the shaved ice can be topped with fresh fruit coconut cream and honey. The syrups are all natural with organic sugar and nothing artificial.

Absolutely delicious. Loved the guava and kalamansi combo and the coconut cream on top. The coconut in the coconut halves although fresh weren't tender, so it was hard to pick them out and eat them. Will probably get it in a regular cup next time.

Delicious fresh fruit and syrupy goodness, served up in powder-type shaved ice (which IMO is the best type). Great flavour combos you can experiment with. The awesome thing is the fresh fruit they top off with is specific to the flavour combo you ask for. I recommend the lychee with calamansi!

We love this place. We stopped here for shaved ice with ice cream three times during the 10 days we spent on the island. We also enjoyed Paco's tacos in the same building.

This shaved ice met and exceeded all my expectations! I had the mango/lime topped with coconut cream and fresh fruit. It was all so flavorful and delicious. I can’t wait to go back! No artificial flavors or colors. Yum!

Best shave ice we've had so far on Kauai. Not sugary sweet syrup like some places. You can tell the syrup is homemade and fresh fruit is added to many of the choices.

Great place for shaved ice if you are on the south side​ of the island. All natural fruit flavors and the honey is a nice added touch. Will definitely be back.
